  • Notes
    • PER STRAUB NOTES: PARALYTIC.
From the Parish History of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA:
"Archbishop Messmer appointed Reverend James Ritger of St. James, Lannon, to assist with the formation of the parish. On September 1, 1904, the new parish of St. James was incorporated. There is no evidence to reflect why the name St. James was chosen. Earlier parish histories indicate that it may have been a sign of respect for Fr. Ritger. An account of the founding of the parish recently recovered from the church cornerstone supports that claim. It notes that the “zealous and earnest work” of Fr. Ritger was largely responsible for the establishment of “our beautiful church.”
