- Nicholas J. "Nick" Vogt
Nicholas J. "Nick" Vogt, of the town of Wayne, was born into eternal life on March 16, 2005, surrounded by his family, at the age of 44.
He was born and raised in the town of Wayne to Denis and Marian (nee Weninger) Vogt on March 26, 1960 in West Bend. He attended Kewaskum High School and graduated with the class of 1978. He married the love of his life and best friend Kathryn E. (nee Dettmann) on Aug. 18, 1979 in Boltonville. Nick was previously employed at Dairyland Harvestore and Gander Mountain. He was the owner and operator of the Hitching Post in Kohlsville for 10 years. He was presently employed at Gierich & Carpenter Contractors. Above all, his wife and children came first in his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and playing poker. Nick coached girls basketball in Kewaskum and softball in Allenton. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.
Nick is survived by his beloved wife Dolly Vogt of the town of Wayne, his adored children Angela (Joe) Germano of Kewaskum, Holly, Jamie and Matthew Vogt all at home. Dear son of Denis and Marian Vogt of Allenton. Son-in-law of Wilma Dettmann of Campbellsport. Cherished brother of Barbara Steger of Slinger, David (Rose) Vogt of West Bend, Joel (Joyce) Vogt of Allenton, Linda Beisbier of Allenton, Ralph (Lea) Vogt of Allenton, Mary Kay (Gary) Klink of Allenton, Caroline (Steve) Beine of Kewaskum, Ken (Jackie) Vogt of Allenton, brother-in-law of Judy (Bob) Blohm of Campbellsport, Sandy (Ralph) Jung of Random Lake, Debby (Tom) Benzschawel of Cascade, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his father-in-law Merlin Dettmann, grandparents Andrew and Mary Weninger and Nick and Helena Vogt.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, March 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church (215 Main St., Allenton), with Father Richard C. Breitbach officiating. Interment took place at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation was at Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend on Friday, March 18 from 4-8 p.m., with a Prayer Vigil at 8 p.m.
An additional visitation was at Resurrection Catholic Church on March 19 from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials are appreciated in honor of his family.
